New party has ‘fresh’ ideas, says former Govt official

Former senior Government official, Fine Tagi Ditoka has seen the light, in a manner of speaking.

She was confirmed as a candidate nominee yesterday at a campaign launch of the One Fiji party. She also serves as national treasurer of One Fiji and is confident that the country’s ‘newest and youngest’ party can offer some fresh solutions to Fiji’s problems.

“I was really bought by the vision of a new era. My calling to this party was first and foremost a spiritual conviction,’’ she said.

Mrs Ditoka has had a distinguished career at the Ministry of Youth and Sports and then as a senior protocol officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Other candidate nominees include:

Akmal Ellyas Ali, Asenaca Toga, Deborah Akisi Mavoa, Fine Tagi Ditoka, Josaia Delai, Makereta Rosi, Napolioni Delasau, Ofa Fisher, Paul Peters, Saimoni Baka Rayala Vuatalevu, Savenaca Kadavi, Viliame Raile, Peni Vuevuelala, Roko Taliai Rasolo, Sitiveni Kalou, Adriu Misiki and Semi Momoedonu.

The launch was opened with a prayer by former national rugby captain Ro Alivereti Doviverata.

About 100 people turned up for the launch at Des Vos on the Park, Suva to hear party leader Filimoni Vosarogo share the party’s vision for the 2014 election.

About 20 of the party’s youth volunteers in their official uniforms also attended.
