Lelean Memorial School fans went home elated after their Under-18 team won the Coke Zero Deans final at Churchill Park, Lautoka, yesterday defeating Ratu Kadavulevu School 13-8.

What happened

LMS scored first from a penalty to Lepani Moce.

In the 18th minute, Waisea Niumataiwalu extended the lead with a try which was converted for the team to lead 10-0.

Moce kicked another penalty just before halftime for LMS to lead 13-0 at halftime.

RKS came back strong after halftime scoring a try to Sairusi Wadigi which was not converted. LMS 13-5 RKS.

Lilo Veiseivalu of RKS narrowed the gap with another penalty.

Ratu Kadavulevu School coach, Waisea Navusa: “When the five key players went to the Youth Olympic Games in China, we knew we had to put in extra effort.

“But overall I salute the boys for a good match and would like to apologise to the fans for not delivering the desired result.”
