The People’s Democratic Party yesterday announced nine more proposed candidates for the September 17 poll.

The proposed candidates are former president of the Fiji Trade Union Congress Daniel Urai, farmer and lawyer Naipote Vere, iTaukei Cane Growers Association co-ordinator and community worker Adi Sivo Ravuwale, community workers Manasa Naiceru and Joeli Drodrolagi, former National Union of Hotel and Catering Employees president Peni Daukaulotu, retired teacher and community worker Abhi Ram, retired businessman and social worker Michael Fernado and Minister of Religion and community worker Pastor Poate Mata.

The announcement brings the total number of the party’s proposed candidates to 42. The party is expected to announce the rest of its proposed candidates before nominations close tomorrow.
