The Fiji national 7s rugby team won their first two pool games at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing yesterday.

The team beat Japan 29-5 and the United States of America 29-10 at the Youth Olympics Sports Park.

The team led 19-0 against Japan and scored two tries in the second half.

Fiji breezed through their second pool game against the USA repeating the same feat with a 19-5 lead at the half-time with the opening try to JosevaRauga and the two tries to TimociMeya. USA answered with Junior Helu scoring a try also.

The second-half saw AlipateQaraniqio add another try followed by Meya to seal the victory, USA scored an unconverted try in the second-half also.

Fiji will face France in the next pool match today at 2.30pm followed by a clash against Argentina at 10.30pm. The last pool match is scheduled against Kenya at 2.30pm tomorrow.
