Tailevu-Naitasiri 3-0 Savusavu

What happened:

Tailevu-Naitasiri will join the Top 8 football districts in the country in the new season.

This was after winning the 2014 Fiji Sun/Skipper Tuna National Football League VitiLevu/Vanua Levu Premier playoffs against Savusavu yesterday.

The TagiVonolagi-coached side won the first round 1-0 at Ganilau Park and sealed the promotion 3-2 at Fiji FA ground.

KeniDoidoi scored the first goal in the 22nd minute and the second in the 41st minute.

Halftime: Tailevu-Naitasiri 2-0 Savusavu

A valiant Savusavu side worked hard to break the opposition’s defence and managed to set up a few goal opportunities only to be denied by a determined Tailevu-Naitasiri. JosaiaRatu’s goal in the 66th minute sealed the win.

Star turn: Doidoi played a man-of-the-match performance scoring a double.

Big play: The winning side defended well and played with genuine determination to be promoted to the Super Premier.

Comments:Tailevu-Naitasiri coach TagiVonolagi, “It was so great seeing these boys fighting from the Premier level and now playing the last game and it’s just a great feeling to be winning this game to be in the Super Premier next season.

“We needed a draw but we changed our game plan because we have seen the Savusavu game. We just went for a win and the boys did it in style. They have the fitness to last in this big ground and they’ve been playing in big grounds so fitness is not a factor and they proved it today.”
