Maraia Vanualailai returned home a happy mum yesterday after her baby was named one of the winners for the 2014 Vodafone Hibiscus Festival baby show.

Ms Vanualailai one-year-two-month old son, William Francis Vanualailai, was part of more than 500 babies who took part in the baby show organised by Johnson and Johnson Fiji.

The Nasinu mum said she was not expecting anything for her son.

“William weighed 14.35kg and he is a vegetarian,” Ms Vanualailai said.

She said he was a very active and happy baby.

“I feed my baby healthy food and make sure to get him for medical check-ups to avoid him contracting any sickness.”

Ms Vanualailai said her son had won Johnson and Johnson goodies, a bicycle and lots of toys.”

SavendraDayal, the managing director of the brand’s local manufacturers, Healthcare Products International, said they continued to sponsor such events because of their commitment to mothers.

“We have been organising this show for over 40 years now and like every show the turnout at this year has been outstanding,” Mr Dayal said.

He said the prizes were worth over $7000.

“We want to tell everyone that John and Johnson products can be trusted by mothers,” Mr Dayal said.

The winner of the main prize was BulouNaituivau of Lami.
