Fair Trade Makoi Bulldogs are going in as underdogs against Burenitu Cowboys in the Vodafone Cup Top 8 clash in Suva tomorrow.

Bulldogs coach Maika Vunivere said they have a lot of respect for Cowboys who had beaten them in their first clash of the competition.

“It was the combination of Cowboys Neumi Nanuku and Vereniki Waqa that really disrupted our way of playing in our last match,” he said.

Despite thrashing Police Sharks 40-10 in their outing last week, Vunivere said they are not carried away with the win because they have a much bigger task of containing the Cowboys.

“We are taking things as they come as the boys have resumed training this week but we will assess all our injured players before we decided on anything else,” he added. Lautoka development officer Lagilagi Golea said he is looking forward to the clash as the Cowboys have been in impressive form.

“But we cannot count the Bulldogs out as they always peak at the right time. Also they have won the 2012 competition and they know what is needed to be there on the top.”
