With the success of its Golden Jubilee celebrations ending last night, the Methodist community in Fiji will now shift its attention to the Bose ko Viti. Last night there was a closing worship service led by the church’s general secretary, Reverend Tevita Banivanua.

Today is Conference Sunday with visiting local and overseas church ministers preaching at Methodist churches in the Central Division.

From tomorrow the 2014 Annual Conference will convene at the Centenary Methodist Church in Suva.

Apart from electing the new church president and the annual elections/endorsement of current leaders, key issues to be discussed during the week-long conference will be the review of the church’s constitution.

To be discussed are proposed regulations and policies as well as a code of conduct for church workers.

Also on the agenda is a report on the ground work for the implementation of the church’s connexional strategic plan.
