What happened: The Shop N Save Nadi side were beaten by Rewa 1-0 at Govind Park in Ba yesterday.

The Delta Tigers were optimistic of sealing a semifinal berth testing Nadi goalkeeper Beniminio Mateinaqara.

One wrong move by captain/goalkeeper Mateinaqara resulted in Rewa’s goal by Setareki Hughes.

Nadi faced a major setback with Ilimotama Jese facing a one match suspension and Krishna Sami stretchered out in the first half.

The match was locked scoreless at halftime.

Rewa defenders played remarkably keeping a check on Samueal Drudru.

Star Play: Rewa’s defence and goalkeeper Tamanisau played well.

Big Play: Hughes capitalised on a blunder by Mateinaqara to score the winner.

Comments: Suva coach Marika Rodu: “We expected a tough match because both teams had equal chances to qualify.

“I told the boys they need to win to be in the semis.”

Nadi coach Kamal Swamy: “We pushed the boys upfront because we needed a goal and any coach would do that.

“It was just unfortunate that we could not score a goal. Now we will focus on our two remaining matches in the Fiji Sun/ Skipper Tuna Nationa Football League competitions,’’ Swamy said.
