Vodafone Fiji Hibiscus 2014 queen Nanise Rainima played down a huge celebration yesterday to continue to help other people after winning her crown on Saturday night.

Miss Rainima was back at Albert Park yesterday with fellow contestants to help clean and rid rubbish left behind by some people who visited the festival.

The 22-year-old of Nakelo, Tailevu, was Miss APCO Coatings.

The win crowned her as Miss Fiji to the South Pacific Pageant in Apia, Samoa, from December 7-13. Miss Rainima said would work hard to win in Samoa.

“I will do my best and continue on my quest in encouraging youths to make good decisions and how their choices affect their future,” Miss Rainima said.

She will also speak on the effects of climate change and how to help prevent it.

“It will be exciting and I am looking forward to the South Pacific Pageant.

“A lot of people are telling me to bring the crown back to Fiji.

“I will do my best and leave the rest to God. I promise that I will do my best,” she said.

Miss Rainima, a missionary, was accompanied by her parents alongside other contestants yesterday. Proud father, Maika Rainima, said he was thankful that he has a daughter who put God first. “I am glad for her and she has learned a lot,” Pastor Rainima said.

“When they announced her name, I just bowed my head. When you raise up a kid and to see what she went through and to see where she is now, I thank Nani for that.”
