Military service medals will be presented to the First Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment (FIR), who had just returned from the Golan Heights serving under the banner of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF).

The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) chief operations officer (COOPs) Lieutenant-Colonel Amani Suliano said the medals would be presented by the RFMF Commander, Brigadier-General Mosese Tikoitoga.

He says all members of the Fiji Batt 1 are required to be at the parade at 8am at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks, Nabua.

The parade, he said, was for them and not only for the presentation of the medals, but also to thank them for the wonderful work they had carried out.

Fiji Batt 1 returned in three chalks with the last arriving in Fiji on August 18 with their Commanding Officer (CO), Lieutenant-Colonel Sitiveni Qiliho.

Lt- Col Qiliho was replaced by Lt-Col Isoa Loanakadavu.

The COOPs said all Territorial Forces (TF) personnel who served with 1FIR UNDOF Fiji Batt 1, are to contact or report to the TF Brigade as soon as possible for their attendance at the parade.

He said the dress code for the parade was number seven dress with medals, blue beret and blue scarf.
