Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services, Dr James Fong.

The management of Air Terminal Services (ATS) yesterday organised an Employee Engagement Day at Wailoaloa beach in Nadi.

The fun-filled day was aimed to give back to the staff of ATS by engaging their families at the annual event.

More than 36 employees and 128 children gathered for the fun day activities followed by a beach clean-up.

ATS employee Priya Pritika Permal said this is one of the days her children looked forward to.

“My kids look forward to this annual event which gives them a chance to socialise with other employees’ children,’’ she said.

Ms Permal believes that such events can foster a peaceful and harmonious community to build a brighter future for the young kids.

“Kids start socialising at a very young age which helps them understand the different cultures and other lifestyles.

“It is a great learning experience during the school holidays and such activities should be adapted by schools.

She says the one-day event organised by ATS over the years has also given the families of ATS staff to build on a stronger relationship with each other.

“Not only has the kids but families also got to socialise with each other,’’ she said.
