Ro TeimumuKepa continues to narrow the large gap that separates her from the leader, Voreqe Bainimarama, the latest Razor Research/Fiji Sun poll reveals.

But Mr Bainimarama is still well in front. Since the weekly poll began 27 weeks ago, this is the first time that the SODELPA leader has passed 20 per cent in the Preferred Prime Minister stakes. She now sits on 22 per cent, an eight-point jump from the previous week.

SODELPA has also jumped from 15 to 21 per cent in the Preferred Political Party polling.

Mr Bainimarama has dropped from 75 per cent to 70 in the Preferred Prime Minister polling. FijiFirst has also decreased from 74 per cent to 70 in the Preferred Political Party.

Mr Bainimarama has just resumed his local campaign after being sick and then in Sydney. It probably explains the dip in his fortune.

Ro Teimumu’s change in strategy has helped her to claw her way back. Before, she stayed in the background and allowed LaiseniaQarase to stand in the frontline. Now, Mr Qarase has stepped back and she has stepped forward to take charge.

People were also asked: Which newspaper is providing the most coverage of the elections?

Seventy per cent of the people said the Fiji Sun, 27 per cent said the Fiji Times.
