The Fair Trade Makoi Bulldogs progressed to the Vodafone Cup Top 8 semifinal in Lautokata this weekend.

What happened: This was after they defeated the Nabua Broncos 22-10 victory in the quarterfinal at the Suva Grammar School yesterday.

The Bulldogs led 8-4 at halftime with tries to MeliDomolailai and JosaiaKoyamaibole while Nabua only managed to score through PatemosiDakuitoga.

The side lifted the intensity in the second half scoring three tries through JosuaNiumataiwalu, ElikiLedua and TimociRavulolo who converted his own try. Nabua managed to score a try to KitioneQereqeretabua which was converted by KiliveNalekava.

Comments: Makoi Bulldogs head coach Maika Vunivere said: “We’ve been preparing well in the past weeks. Dedication and sacrifice has finally paid off for the boys.

Nabua team manager SosiBoila said: “The Makoi Bulldogs team deserved to win. We will regroup again next season,” Boila said.
