RGV Apologises for his Tweet

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma last Friday apologised for his atheist tweet on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

“All tweets I put on Ganesha were in my usual manner but unintended by me to hurt anyone’s sentiments…but if they did I sincerely apologize,” tweeted Verma.

The apology came after his earlier tweeted on the microblogging site sparked a controversy and fueled criticism from across the nation demanding strict action against him.

Lawyer and political activist Shehzad Poonawalla even lodged a complaint against him to the Delhi Police and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

The filmmaker had earlier tweeted, “The guy who couldn’t save his own head from being cut, how he will save others heads is my question? But Happy Ganpathi day to morons!” Times of India
