Rewa Plans To Celebrate B.O.G Win

Rewa Football Association plans to host a big celebration soon after winning the 2014 Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament on Sunday.

The champions plan to celebrate in style with the players and their families, and fans.

Rewa Football president Nazeel Buksh confirmed yesterday that they would treat the players, their families and those who helped the team secure the win.

“What we are thinking of doing is giving the players a treat along with their families, our sponsors and people who have worked behind the scenes with the team,” Buksh said.

“We will be having a dinner where gifts and the prizemoney of $11,000 will be given to the players.”

The Nausori Town Council has contacted Rewa Football in regards to a celebration tying in with Lelean Memorial School which won the Coke Zero Deans trophy, Tailevu-Naitasiri which won the Fiji Sun/Skipper Tuna Viti Levu/Vanua Levu Playoff, Saraswati College which won the Secondary Schools IDC and Rewa Gujrati which won the Gujrati IDC.

Buksh, however, declined the Nausori Town Council’s invitation to a public celebration because of a shortage of officials.

“The reason why we don’t want a public celebration is because we don’t have a lot of officials to carry out such a task,” Buksh said.

This came about after the Delta Tigers beat Lautoka 2-1 in the B.O.G final on Sunday at the ANZ, Stadium in Suva.
