Baker Hall, one of the Methodist Church’s historical and iconic buildings is expected to open on October 10 after renovations to it are completed.

Baker Hall was the first teaching school in Fiji and the first technical college.

Reverend Tevita Banivanua, the president elect of the Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma said he was relieved the renovation was almost coming to an end.

“Baker Hall is almost complete and then the bridge and the road leading up to it will be fixed,” Rev Banivanua said.

“The completion of the Baker Hall means a new beginning for Davuilevu.”

While the Methodist Church has already spent FJD $200,000 on the renovation, more works on the road and bridge are still in process.
