It’s going to be after 13 years the Islands Electric Lautoka Crushers will be playing at the Churchill Park ground 1.

Crushers manager Mesake Navugona said reaching the Vodafone Cup Premier Grade semifinals mean they are one game away from getting a Top 8 spot.

“It’s going to be the final,” the former double international said.

“The players know what is at stake and for the last few days we’ve been having our recovery sessions with a few of our senior players nursing niggling injuries but should be able to recover in time.”

Navugona said they have a great respect for their opponents Kinoya Sea Eagles who have done well in their competitive Nasinu Zone to reach this far.

“It’s going to be a tough tussle. We are calling on our supporters to be there to cheer the boys on in this most important clash.”

He pointed out the last time the Crushers played at Churchill Park ground 1 was in 2000 when they beat Nadera Panthers in the final to become the national champions.

“So we are there again but hopefully this time we will win a Top 8 berth,” he added.

The Premier Grade finalists will automatically qualify for the Top 8 competition while  Police Sharks and Topline Warriors have been relegated.
