May the peace and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon you. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Fiji has expressed deep sorrow and sadness at the act of terrorism by the militant rebel group holding 45 Fijian peacekeepers hostage in the Golan Heights.

The national president and missionary in charge of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Fiji says that the formation of ter-rorist groups such as Al Nusra and taking captives of peacemakers and the killing of innocent people are not con-doned by Islam. Neither is it the teaching of Islam preached and practiced by the holy prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

All the mem-bers of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Fiji had been reminded to pray for the safety of our countrymen in their daily prayers. A special prayer session will be observed by the Ahmadiyya Muslim community at Mahmood Mosque, Maro, Siga-toka on September 7, 2014.

There is no doubt in our mind that our peacekeepers of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces are one of the best in peacekeeping duties. This is acknowledged by the UN Security Council and the citizens of the countries in which our soldiers have pro-vided peacekeeping services in.

For the members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community and the nation as a whole, we all are deeply concerned about the safe return of our peacekeepers.

During this trying time we all must unite and pray despite our ethnicities and religious beliefs for the safe release of our 45 Golan peacekeepers.
