Sun Insurance Company Limited, a leading property and casualty (P&C) insurer, yesterday donated $5000 to the Tamavua Twomey Hospital.

It is to help patients, said hospital board chairman, Hari Raj Naicker.

“They have come to the rescue and the donation will help patients at the Tamavua Twomey Hospital,” Mr Naicker said.

“There are a number of patients who are confined to bed and we, as the members of the board of visitors, are duty bound to take care of them. After the kind donation today (yesterday), I am sure that other corporate bodies will come forward.

“This is one of the oldest hospitals and we can’t expect the Ministry of Health to do everything.”

Sun Insurance chief executive officer, Lolesh Sharma said, “We always take pride in what we do around Fiji, We are donating to Tamavua Twomey Hospital because as it is not well known and they needed the money”

“We hope that other companies will donate because this is a worthy cause,” Mr Sharma said.
