SODELPA Manager Gets Arrest Warrant, Issues Warning

SODELPA media manager Sainiana Radrodro yesterday took to Facebook to issue a warning after a bench warrant was issued for her arrest.

Radrodro, a former media liaison officer of the Works, Transport and Public Utilities Ministry – said on Facebook: “Oh yeah bring it on. I will take many of you down with me. Surely you know that …..””

Radrodro was supposed to appear before Magistrate Alipate Mataitini in Suva court. But neither she nor her lawyer were present.

Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption lawyer Rashmi Aslam asked the court for a bench warrant after Radrodro’s non-appearance.

Radrodro denies 11 counts of obtaining a financial advantage by deception contrary to section 318 of the Crimes Decree No 44 of 2009.

She is alleged to have obtained financial advantage by falsely stating that the then Minister for Works, Transport & Public Utilities had requested in total $9560 over 11 separate occasions between May 2010 and June 2011.

The matter is now adjourned to October 30, 2014 for mention.

Radrodro took to Facebook venting her frustration.

She stated: “I lodged on behalf of SODELPA a Police complaint against Fiji Sun and FijiFirst for their racist and political incitement story covering their front page today. Two hours later, I am issued a bench warrant for failing to appear for my FICAC case on Monday.

“My Counsel and I thought it was tomorrow as per the courts advice. However we will now appear tomorrow in court. Se baci another moment of sh…..fame.”
