One of Fiji’s premier supermarket chains, originating from Ba, New WorldLimited  has invested over $2.5 million to open another store at its original site at the busy Nakasi corridor.

New World Limited director, Anil Patel said the New World IGA store which was opened yesterday was slightly different to the original store.

This would be the fourth Independent Grocers Association (IGA) USA affiliated store in Fiji, following New World acquiring the Master Franchise from IGA.

“We were present before at the same outlet for five years but it got burnt down almost two years ago,” Mr Patel said.

“This location is a very mature demographic and it’s close to Nausori with a lot of parking spaces.

“Comfortable shopping atmosphere, fully air conditioned with great quality products locally sourced and international range with affordable prices.

He stressed that this would be New Worlds18 outlet that caters for every shopper in Fiji.

The centre in which it is located offers other complementary services such as doctors, chemist, banks and other renowned retailers.

Over 70 people are employed at this new supermarket.

The company’s future plan is to expand to other parts of Fiji with the next new IGA outlet would be opened in Savusavu soon.
