Feasting on wrong story

Australian-based “journos”who like to write so much about Fiji should open their eyes while making a trip here and see that we do not have “stalled economy” etc. Matt Siegel and Lincoln Feast, who wrote a dreadful stereotyped piece for Reuters news agency about Fiji and its peacekeepers, should talk to more people for a clearer picture. Not just a select few from our anti lot.

Mr Feast was here recently running a training session for the International Monetary Fund. Perhaps they should send Mr Feast for some training too.

His piece does nothing for the credibility of Reuters, an agency criticised in the past for bias in covering  some issues.

LAL IS LOST IN EUROPE

Victor Lal, who back in the late 1980s was apparently an ambitious young journalist in Fiji, seems to be losing it with his long distance efforts to be in the limelight here from his home in Europe. His anti-government blog increasingly resorts to deliberate untruths to try to stir dissent. But then what can you expect? This is someone who used Rabuka’s 1987 coups as an opportunity to change a training stint in Europe into a permanent home and thriving career over there on the other side of the world.
