The body of a 12-year-old girl was found by her father at their home in Samabula, Suva, yesterday morning around 8am.
According to Police, the girl was left at home alone, while her father had gone to have a haircut and her mother was at church.
Upon his return the girl’s father noticed her lying motionless and took her to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital but was unfortunately pronounced dead.
Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro said investigation into the matter was continuing.
“We are still trying to ascertain the circumstances surrounding her death and the case is still classified as a case of interest for now till we gather more information,” Ms Naisoro said.
