Final Batch Of Ballot Papers Printed

The final batch of 196,000 ballot papers have been printed and were transported to the Fijian Elections Office security storage facility in Wailekutu yesterday morning completing the 700, 000 ballot papers for general election.

131 boxes containing 3920 booklets were transported by the staff of the Fijian Elections office escorted by Police officers from Star printery.

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem said a total of 8770 kilograms of papers were used however he did not disclose the sum awarded to Star printery for their contract.

“The Fijian Elections Office wishes to advise that as of now, we have finished the printing and compilation of ballot papers,” he said

“The final batch was just dispatched to our secure facility, as at today we have 14,000 books that have been printed and bound and has been distributed to the pre-poll areas which also included the ballot papers to be used on the polling day on 17th.’’
