Unsuccessful election candidate nominee Taniguichi Hiroshi said it right that political parties should talk about how they are going to do things rather than criticising others.

Dickie Bird said for example a lot of opposition party candidates have talked about the country’s economy, unemployment, health services, iTaukei lands and poverty. But they have been very quiet when asked on how are they going to deal with it if they are in power? Food for thought for our voters!

One mission

Now the FijiFirst Party is the target of every political party contesting the September 17 general election. In some villages in the interior of Viti Levu, they have been visited by the Social Democratic Liberal Party (SOLDEPA) campaign team accompanied by other political party candidates. Dickie Bird said for most villagers they do not know that these candidates are from other political parties.

Rally surprise

The Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) election candidates were shocked with what they saw as a big turnout from the Indo Fijian community during their rally in Narere, Nasinu, last Saturday. Dickie Bird said the party senior executives are now confident of another bigger turnout in the Nausori rally scheduled for this Saturday.

Breakthrough

Word from the North is that the FijiFirst Party is gaining ground in territories regarded to be strong SODELPA strongholds. The campaign there is spearheaded by Minister for Foreign Affairs Ratu Inoke Kubuabola.

Dickie Bird said what triggered the change of heart is when villagers were reminded how their last parliamentary representative never visited them during his five-year term resulting in the province lacking behind in terms of development. This was not the case under the current Government.
