He was an automotive mechanic by profession who took up Beef Farming in 2011 at his Waidalice Farm, Tailevu.

Mr Turaga is a single, energetic and ambitious farmer who uses modern technology to improve his production.

“I am very happy that I won this award because it shows my hard work has been recognised and I want to thank the ministry (Agriculture) for their assistance and guidance,” he said.

Vegetable farmer of Sauniwaqa Settlement in Nakasi, Ajay Nand, was also very proud and happy that he won the Best Vegetable Farmer Award.

“I feel very happy and thank the ministry for the support and guidance and yes I will participate again in the show if we are invited again,” Mr Nand said.
