The North West Nadroga Under-14 team is happy with their performance in the 39th CJ Patel Fiji Primary Schools Inter-District Championship.

The side consists of nine schools located between Nadroga and Nadi corridor. The schools include Malamala Public School, Nawaicoba Public, Nawai Public, Ratu Nemani Memorial, Nabila Public, Savusavu Public, Tau Primary, Uciwai Sangam Primary and Nalovo Sangam.

Team coach Venith Prakash said they faced setbacks during their preparation.

“We did well although we faced financial difficulties,”Prakash said.

“Our boys fared well from the first day of competition and we are proud of them.”

The Westerners only managed to win one pool game against Tailevu yesterday 1-0 and lost three-to Nadogo (0-2), Bua (0-1) and Tavua (0-1).

“We are confident that we will come back next year a better team,” he said.
