Fiji Aims To Defend Muslim Football Tournament

Fiji is expected to field a formidable side in the 9th Fiji Australia New Zealand Canada and America (FANCA) tournament at Ratu Cakobau Park, in Nausori next month.

Team director/coach Javed Hussain is confident they will defend their title.

“The competition will kick off after the completion of the 2014 Courts IDC,” Hussain said.

“This year we will be aiming to win the Veteran and Masters’ competitions after we did not fare well in 2012.

“The Fiji Muslim Sports Association will have trials to select a good team. Players to contact team manager Mohin on 999 2841 for trials on the September 28-28 at Nadi Muslim Primary School.

“We welcome players who are interested to represent Fiji.  Contact Southern co-ordinator Riaz on 9487 824 and Western co-ordinator Sheeraz on 999 1547.” The competition kicks off from October 13- 19.
