Tomorrow has been declared a National Day of Thanksgiving for the release of the 45 Fijian United Nations peacekeeping soldiers held captive by the al-Nusra Front.

A thanksgiving service will be held at the ANZ National Stadium in Suva starting 4.30am. The event is being organised by the Government. Leaders of Fiji’s main religious faiths will all play a role in the service.

A special place of honour will be reserved for the families and friends of the 45 peacekeepers, whose courage and fortitude has captured the imagination of the nation.
