The Fiji Police Force mobilised a team to Korotogo in Sigatoka to locate the parents of the four-day-old baby girl found at the weekend.

The divisional Police media liaison officer-West, Naina Ragigia, said officers were now doing house visits to help locate the parents of the baby.

“The baby is healthy and is being taken care of at the Sigatoka Hospital maternity ward,” Ms Ragigia said.

Details are sketchy however sources have confirmed that the baby girl was born on September 13 at the Sigatoka Hospital.

Sources have also confirmed that the mother of the baby girl is also admitted at the same hospital, but Police have yet to confirm.

The baby was found by an 18-year-old boy while he was cleaning his compound and was found wrapped in a “sulu” and crying on the other side of the fence.
