Voters casting postal ballots are reminded to check with their local DHL offices if they have not yet received their package.

The Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem, said they had sent out all the postal ballots.

“We wish to remind any voter who had applied for postal ballot and have still not received their ballots to contact their local DHL office,” he said.

“DHL would be able to advise you where the envelopes are and when it will reach you.”

The deadline for the receipt of postal ballots by the Elections Office is 6pm today

“There are two options for people living in Suva or Viti Levu, or whoever is able deliver the envelope to the elections office may do so,” Mr Saneem said.

“But the alternative is to call DHL to return the envelope and they are free service as all costs have been born by the elections office so all voters need to do is get in touch with their local DHL office.”

Meanwhile, the elections office had made arrangements with the DHL office to ensure that envelopes were received on time, he said.

“I don’t see any major problems with the DHL not delivering the envelopes on time.”

He dismissed claims that ballot papers were pre-marked. He said only one postal ballot was sent out to each person.
