Candidates of different political parties in the Western Division agreed that the voting process used yesterday was easier and faster compared to past general elections.

FijiFirst candidate Faiyaz Koya says the system suits the needs of people.

“It is a good day to vote, no long lines and queues and there is an air of excitement around,” Mr Koya said.

He was present at the polling station at Natabua High School in Lautoka.

Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) candidate Viliame Satala shared similar views saying the system was faster and was understood well by voters.

“I think it is much easier, no long lines of people in the western heat,” Mr Satala, a former national rugby rep said.

“It has been a good day and it is big relief that we cast our votes and now await the results,” he said.

He was present at the Ami Chandra Memorial Primary School polling station.

Mr Satala is among new candidates in this election.
