FUFP Respects People’s Choice

The Fiji United Freedom Party said at the end of the day, they respected the choice of voters in determining Fiji’s next government.
Party president Jagath Karunaratne said they maintained their stand to work with any government that would be formed after the results were out.
“We are a new born party that is getting established slowly, but steadily,” Mr Karunaratne said.
“It is pleasing and a humble experience to see every vote that gets added on to the total for our party even though the numbers are small.”
Mr Karunaratne said they expected more votes.
“We understand that it may take a while for people to appreciate the solutions and issues that we are addressing,” he said.
“Particularly this election may be revolving around people’s emotions and feelings than issues and solutions and FUFP focuses on issues and solutions.”
Mr Karunaratne thanked every voter who voted for them.
“As soon as the election process is finished, we will get back to the people and continue the work we initiated.
“We will look forward to working with the government that will be formed and we hope that we will be able to lobby our initiatives and the government will provide necessary assistance to move them forward.
“At the end of the day, we will respect the choice of the people and we will continue to serve the minority and push their issues forward with proposed solutions,” he said.
