Marist Hockey Club got a timely boost from Geotech Drilling when they were presented with new sets of shirts yesterday.

This is for the 2014 Geotech Drilling Marist Eastgate Memorial Tournament which starts today.

The club received their shirts from Geotech Drilling director Gary Barnett, who saluted them for returning to the original club colours of blue and white.

“It’s very good to have our logo on it and I’ve been talking to Paul here and it’s been 13 years since they last wore their original colours,”Barnett said.

“I remember when I played back in New Zealand it was always blue and white. So it’s good to have our logo displayed on the original colours.”

Receiving the jerseys, Marist Hockey Club vice-pesident Paul Fraser acknowledged Barnett for the support.

“Along with the sponsorship that Geotech has given us for these jerseys, Geotech has also got the naming rights and it looks good with the colours which we’ll be proud to wear.”

In addition to yesterday’s presentation at the  National Hockey Centre, Geotech Drilling has provided a $6000 sponsorship for the tournament.

The games begin at 6 tonight and finish at 10.30pm before starting tomorrow at 8am and wrapping up at 11.30pm. The third and final day of games on Sunday will start at 8am and end at 5pm.
