Peni Ravai has teamed up with Waratahs wing Taqele Naiyaravoro for the Greater Sydney Rams team in the Buildcorp National Rugby Championship last night.

The Nadroga prop will be with the Rams for five weeks as a ‘medical joker’ (replacement for injured player).

Ravai played for the Rams in round five of the NRC against Queensland Country at Ballymore Stadium last night.

“I really like it here and I thank God for his blessing,” Ravai said.

The 24-year old from Natuva, Taivugalei, Tailevu says his aim now is to don the New South Wales Waratahs jumper.

“I will be proving myself in every game for the Rams and will try to impress the Waratahs selectors,” he said.

Yasawa flyer Naiyaravoro says Ravai would boost the Rams.

“He’s the size and speed and experience will really be a huge boost for us,” Naiyaravoro said.

Nadroga Rugby Union president Jikoibau Matawalu wishes Ravai well.

“This is a breakthrough for Ravai and this is also a good opportunity for him to impress,”he said.

“We wish him the best of luck.”
