Party Members Threaten Own

Some Fiji Labour Party members have threatened party candidate Dr Rohit Kishore.
This comes after Dr Kishore made comments yesterday about the poor performance of the party.
Dr Kishore had said Labour had lost because of their party leader Mahendra Chaudhry’s conviction.
Fiji Police Force Chief of Operations, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Rusiate Tudravu confirmed that they had received a complaint from Dr Kishore yesterday morning.
“One of the party members, Ben Padarath had threatened him and we have warned him to refrain from such acts,” ACP Tudravu said.
When the Fiji Sun approached Mr Chaudhry for a comment, he said he was in a meeting.
But on FijiVillage, Mr Chaudhry said he had received a few calls from party members that did not share Dr Kishore’s view and they wanted action to be taken.
“Dr Kishore is an ambitious person who came in the party yesterday and wants to become the party leader overnight.”
Mr Chaudhry said this was a party matter and it would be referred to the party.
Dr Kishore yesterday stood by his comments and said the party could take whatever action they wanted.
“You can not fool people, we all know that people wanted to support FLP but they wanted Mr Chaudhry to be removed as a leader.”
“Most people during our campaigns have told us that they did not want him as the leader because he wanted a coalition with SODELPA,” Dr Kishore said.
He said SODELPA supported the Qoliqoli Bill which most FLP supporters did not support.
