Checks: SODELPA

SODELPA asked for reconcilation in six polling stations, just when the general election results looked like being finalised.
This was still going on early today in Suva.
SODELPA polling agents turned up in numbers at the FMF Dome last night while counting was in final stages. They were verifying and double checking almost all figures that the Fijian Elections Office had finalised.
Despite massive efforts on their part, nothing much changed.
Although these results were yet to be added to the national list, not much change was expected there either.
Notable name missing from the SODELPA line-up is Vane Seruvakula from Vatukoula. In the provisional figures released on early Thursday, she was giving other candidates a run for their money.
However, as of 10pm last night, her total votes were 1680 following rechecking and verification process. It is understood that votes of another candidate whose number was similar to Ms Seruvakula’s were wrongly added to hers.
As the final announcement neared:

There is a close contest of who will be the 32nd person making the cut on the FijiFirst list. Veena Bhatnagar was in the lead. But there were indications that she may be overtaken by Laisenia Tuitubou.
However, this can only be confirmed after all results are declared.
