The Fiji Bitter National Fire Authority (NFA) coach Akuila Nasi says self-belief of their players carried the team into the semifinals of the RC Manubhai-sponsored Suva Rugby Union (SRU) Escott Shield.

NFA takes on Covenant on Friday in the semifinal while the other semifinal sees defending champions Police lock horns with Army at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

“It is a proud moment for NFA to reach this stage,”Nasi said.

“Our players’ self-belief carried us so far and I am optimistic we will achieve our aim.”

Nasi, who is coaching the NFA in its fourth year in the SRU Premier competition, praised the players for their performance.

“I’m proud to coach this side as they are committed and dedicated and I am confident that the players will make the NFA proud,” Nasi added.

NFA defeated Pacific Agencies Harlequins 40-13 in the quarterfinal last Saturday.

Police, Covenant, NFA and Army fought tooth and nail against their opponents in the quarterfinals to qualify for the semifinals..
