Team Ba won five medals in the 2nd  Korean Ambassadors Cup Taekwondo Championship at the Kshatriya Hall, in Suva last Saturday.

Janvi Kant, 16, won a gold medal while Neha Ram and Kesaia Rokotuibau won silver medals.

Mother of three Olivia Likusiga and Ayush Prasad, 13, won bronze medals.

Team Ba Taekwondo instructor Pooja Upsana said they fielded 10 players.

“Seven of them took part in the Kyurogi (sparring) competition and five out of seven came home with a medal each,” Upsana said.”

The team did face a setback as their favourites Eshan Chand (Ba) and Shyna (Nadi) ended up injured.

Fiji Taekwondo Association president Daniel Mosese thanked the sponsors, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in association with Fiji Taekwondo Association.

“Fiji Taekwondo Association used this event as a trial, in preparation for the 2015 Pacific Games (PNG).”
