40 Riders Confirmed For Fiji Tour 2014

The Fiji Tour 2014 is expected to draw a good crowd of cyclers into the country when it starts next month.   Dubbed as the Fijian version of the ‘Tour De France’ race organisers expect it to be bigger and better.

Fiji Cycling Association president Andrienne Ali said they look forward to a favourable turnout.

“At this stage we have 40 riders, as the most ever,” Ali said.

“We wish to extend a warm invitation to the interested public who would like to participate in an upcoming competition. It looks like more and more applications are coming in since it is going to be huge.”

Ali added that all bikes are categorised accordingly with male and female categories.

The entry fee is $20 per person while expatriate fee is $100 per person.

“We encourage all interested participants to give it a try, with the 2014 Tour of Fiji registration closing on October 8 at 5pm,” she added.

“The Western Cycling Association is providing a training programme for the relevancy to the preparation of this event. The necessity of this function is to basically relay safety precautions. For further information please contact Percy Navolo on 9947 118.”

The Fiji Tour 2014 will be from October 10-12.
