Jack’s Nadi rugby centre Sanivalati Ramuwai believes in hard work.

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday Ramuwai said he is ready to make his debut for the Vodafone Fiji 7s team at the 2014/2015 HSBC Series World Series at the Cbus Super Stadium in Gold Coast, Brisbane from October 11-12.

The Matawailevu native from Nalawa in Ra was among the four new players named by Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan on Monday.

“I’ve been looking forward to this day,” he said.

“Ever since I was a child I always love to play rugby. I thank Ben (Ryan) for having faith in me by naming me in the team.”

The 25-year-old who plays at rover indicated that he used to imitate his idol the late Aminiasi Naituyaga who was dubbed the Steel Man in the rugby world

“I guess no road to success is an easy one. We have to make sacrifices and as a player I had to train hard and stay focused all the time. As a kid I always look up to Naituyaga on how he tackled his opponents.”

Ramuwai had a successful stint with the Asian Pacific Dragons coached by former All Blacks centre Tana Umaga that beat Japan 35-29 in Singapore last April.

“I will work hard to be part of the Fiji team that will play in the Olympics in Rio 2016. I am happy with the way Ben talked to us and it has made me more determined to work even harder to maintain my spot this season”

Ramuwai was part of the Telecom Fiji Warriors that played at the 2014 Pacific Rugby Cup. He also represented Nadi in the Skipper Cup and was part of the champion Tokatoka Westfield Dragons for the last two years.

He will be part of the Asia Pacific Dragons team that will face the Maori All Blacks at the new National Stadium in Singapore on November 15.
