The Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Pio Tikoduadua intends to ensure water access is improved, particularly for long-suffering families around the country.

He has already planned a briefing session with the chief executive officer of the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) this morning at 8.30am.

“I’ll be having a meeting to be briefed on the water situation during this long dry spell,” he said.

CEO, Opetaia Ravai said he was ready for the meeting and aware of the Minister’s concerns.

“We will give a detailed briefing the current situation,” he said.

On transportation, Mr Tikoduadua said he would continue from the work currently on the ground.

He said there would be improvement on transportation both on land and sea.

 Health and Medical Service

The Minister for Health and Medical Services, Jone Usamate, was up for the new challenges his new portfolio would bring.

Mr. Usamate will be briefed by senior ministry officials in the next few days.

 Immigration, National Security and Defence

The Minister for Immigration, National Security and Defence, Timoci Natuva said he was also looking forward to the new challenges, something he was more familiar as a former naval commander.

He said he was ready for the challenges he would face in the ministry.

 Agriculture, Rural Development and National Disaster Management

Inia Seruiratu has retained the position of Minister for Agriculture, Rural Development and National Disaster Management.

He said he would continue to work with some specialists to improve output in the agriculture sector.
