Natuva To Meet Security Forces

The Minister for Defence, Timoci Lesi Natuva, will be touring the security forces soon.

Mr Natuva said this tour would enable them to brief him on what they had been doing throughout the year and their plans.

“I will be touring the RFMF, Immigration and Police so they will brief me on what they have been doing and their plans for moving forward,” Mr Natuva said.

“The first two weeks will be to familiarise myself about the ministry.”

He said his plans for the ministry for the next four years would be based on the ministry’s annual corporate and strategic plans.

“I will follow the plans in place and review the corporate plan on whether it is in line with the ministry’s strategic plan or not.

“I cannot just come in and start making plans for the next four years because there are already plans in place by the ministry.”

Meanwhile, the Fiji Police Force is waiting to work with Mr Natuva.

Police chief operations officer, Assistant Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu said the force fully supported the appointment and looked forward to working with him.

Mr Tudravu said the Police Force was now back to its normal operational tasks following the conclusion of the election.

He also confirmed that all officers out on deployment during the elections had returned.
