Vodafone Flying Fijians coach John McKee is happy with the performance of the Fijians playing in Romania.

Eseria Vueti, Malakai Ravulo, Nemia Kenatale and Jonetani Ralulu assisted the Farul Constanta RC to reach the Romania Rugby Superliga final after 17 years.

“I’ve received good reports from their coach and I’m very impressed,”McKee said.

“The four players have been performing well and I know competition there is tough but they are doing well.”

Vueti was best player in the mid-season after he was the top try-scorer for the club scoring seven tries. The side lost to Baia Mare 19-25 in the final.

The Mokani, Tailevu native captained the side and led strongly from the front.

According to the Farul Constanta Rugby website, the club is proud to have the four Fijians.

“They came all the way from Fiji, a small island in the Pacific thousands of miles away.

“They came for one purpose and that’s to win the title in Romania for Farul RC. We’re indeed happy to have them.”

Nadroga Rugby president Tikoibau Matawalu applauded the achievement of Ralulu.

“We’re happy with Ralulu’s achievement and his involvement with the club helping them to reach the final after 17 years is a big thing,”he said.

“We know this will open up opportunities for him in future,” Matawalu said.

Tailevu Rugby president, Pastor Maika Rainima also applauded the two Tailevu reps Vueti and Kenatale.

“We thank the two players who come from Tailevu and played for their province,”he said.

“We’re working on to develop our reps to be professional players, and we wish the two players well.”
