Vodafone Fiji has stepped in again to help people in the North through community service and other projects carried out by the Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North committee.

Vodafone Sponsorship and Marketing manager Liga Gukisuva offered the festival committee $90,000.
He said that the money was is from the texting revenue during the weeklong festival and it all goes back to festival committee.

Mr Gukisuva said all money collected would be directed to the people of Labasa.

“We had a meeting with the committee where they shared their vision with us and it really made sense to us” Mr Gukisuva said.

“It is because one core value of our business is the passion of the vanua and looking at the projects that the committee is doing, it all goes back to the vanua and the people of Labasa” Mr Gukisuva said.

“Looking at some of the projects that the festival committee is doing they are not very cheap to come by.

“For us to compliment the vision and the dream they have we thought it is only fair to increase our sponsorship to meet the demand of their vision” he said.

Mr Gukisuva also said Vodafone cannot give the same amount every year because the committee needs to meet their key target.

Meanwhile, festival committee president Vincent Shayam said Vodafone Fiji have given the North such great support and the committee is looking forward for the same support come next year.
