Cowley, Dickinson Win

Daniel Cowley and Lavinia Dickinson won the men’s and women’s titles respectively in the triathlon competition in Namaka, Nadi last Saturday.
Cowley clocked 1 hour 11 minutes and 30 seconds while Dickinson recorded 1: 15; 26.
National rep Nau Dakuliga finished in second position in the women’s category.
Nadi Triathlon Association secretary Tui Valentine said the event was organised by the Fiji Athletic Swim Triathlon (F.A.S.T) club in conjunction with BodyLife Gym.
“We had a good turnout and there were some good times recorded,” Valentine said.
She thanked all the participants especially the young champ competitor in five-year old Savanah Mercer.
“We welcome the newcomers, Team Atchimoto which includes Mikii Mutsumoto, 5, Summer Atchison, 6 and Erina Mutsumoto, Anna Cowley and the return of the Barracuda Swimmers,” she added.
“We would like to thank the officials including race referee (Dave Dickinson) and technical official (Grace Valentine) for their continuous support and generously volunteering their time to officiate.
“A big thank you goes to Airport Fiji Limited for the use of the pool.”
In other results: Team Atchimoto won the aquathon with a total time of 36 minutes. Team Mercer family claimed first spot in the Under-14 Mix team category with a time of 26;31min while Buzzy Bees finished second with time of 29; 53 min.
In the super sprint category (male) Tai Chi won with a time of 46;53, (female) was won by Ella Jane with a time of 46; 30, second was Anna Cowley (50; 30) while Hilani in third spot (52: 59).
The final event will be on October 18.
