Former Rewa and national football captain Abdul Mannan has backed his former sides Rewa and Lautoka to come out Pool B winners in the 2014 Courts Inter-District Championship which start on Saturday.

“Rewa is a good team after winning the Battle of the Giants this year; they have a very young side from their youth team,” Manan said.

“They are recruiting young players and they will be a team to beat if they keep these young players; they have better chances to qualify into the semifinals,” Mannan said.

Rewa is pooled alongside Lautoka, Nadroga and favourites Ba.

“They have a better chances to qualify; it is a tough pool but it is good to play against stronger teams rather than weak teams so that when they qualify from the pool and play in the semis it will be much easier because they have gone through a tough phase,” he said.

The Toga, Rewa man is strongly predicting Rewa and the sugar city Lautoka side to be favourites in their pool.

“I’m predicting Rewa and Lautoka to top their pool since Lautoka also have good players,” he said.
