Nadi Market vendors raised several concerns on the recently-opened market building during a meeting with the Town Council in Nadi, yesterday.

Present during the meeting, Sanjit Patel, who was mediating the conference said that most of the complaints made were regarding the availability of space.

“The meeting was basically regarding the over supplies of vendors and the space that has been limited to them at the new wing of the market,” Mr Patel said.

He said the need of the meeting came after receiving several phone calls during the weekend.

“There were few calls I had received on the weekends, so I had inquired the special administrator to have a meeting with the vendors present so that we could discuss the issues raised by them,” he said.

The meeting was also an opportunity for the council to remind vendors to use of the facilities wisely provided to them.

Finance manager, Anita Vanua reminded vendors especially those who were using the hostel to be mindful.

“We have to be very grateful to what the government has provided to us and for that we also need to be mindful and treat our hostel as our own home,” she said.

Special Administrator Robin Ali was happy with the turnout from the vendors during the meeting.
