New faces are expected to bolster Finance Pacific Nadroga’s campaign in the 2014 Courts Inter District Championship, which kicks off at Prince Charles Park in Nadi on Saturday.
The Stallions last hoisted the Llyod Farebrother trophy in 1993 and they have signed-up former Ba skipper and reliable defender Malakai Kanahawe, Marika Madigi, Semesa Nakosia, Iliesa Qereqeretabua and midfield general Peni Finau.
The Stallions squad also contain youngsters like Martin Nasova (Nukuloa College), Epeli Lairoti (Ba Youth), Hussein Shah (Nadi Youth), Don Deven Raj (Rifle Range), Kelepi Waqa and Tavute Baleiloa (Civic FC).
NFA president Vijay Singh confirmed they have brought in players from Lautoka and Ba during the transfer window last month.
“We have a lot of young players in the side and not all the players have arrived,” said Singh.
The Joseph Nand coached-side opens their IDC campaign against 2014 Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants Champion Rewa at 4pm.
“The preparation is on track with few niggle injury but we are working hard as we respect Rewa who are riding high after their B.O.G win,” he added.
The Sigatoka businessman would like to thank their new sponsors and past officials for their support towards the team.
“There is call for the people of Nadroga to come behind the team and support them during the IDC.”
Nadroga has appeared in six IDC finals since its inception in 1938- winning the title in 1988, 1989 and 1993.
The Stallions then had star players like Singh, Radike Nawalu, Ramend Dutt, George Ali, Ilikimi Tulalevu and so on.
On the same note, Rewa have appeared in 16 finals and have won on nine occasions.  The Delta Tigers last tasted victory in 2010 beating Lautoka 3-1 at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.
